The assistant Black Stars manager believes such an adventure could come with too much pressure.

Deputy Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu does not agree with suggestions to parade a home-based squad for the Black Stars' final 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Rwanda in September.

Already qualified with a match to spare courtesy of a 2-0 win over Mauritius in the penultimate game earlier this month, there have been calls for the use of home-based players for the final group match.

“It’s a good call from football loving fans, especially from the keen followers of the local league," Konadu told Happy FM.

"But have we asked ourselves if the players who toiled to qualify the team to the tournament with a game to spare are unwilling to finish the job?

“I think we shouldn’t try to pressure the local boys too much likewise the technical handlers of the Black Stars.

"When the time is due for a local player to be invited into the Black Stars, we do, and there are several examples to this. This is my humble opinion.”

Ghana sit seven points clear at the top of Group H, ahead of the last round of matches.
