On-loan Al Ahli striker Asamoah Gyan will spend three weeks in the treatment room after suffering another injury setback.
The Ghana captain was stretchered off after just 17 minutes during a league match against Al Jazira last Saturday after picking up a muscle injury.
Gyan's local manager Sammy Anim-Addo played down the severity of the injury and said he was going to make a quick comeback.
But 31-year-old needs 21 days to recover fully.
Gyan, owned by Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, has scored two goals in five league matches.
