Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan could retire after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, according to his manager Anim Addo.
Gyan is at the peak of his career having played for more than two decades.
The striker after representing Ghana at three FIFA World Cups and six Cup of Nations appearances could call it a quite after next year’s edition of Africa’s flagship football competition.
“It’s likely he would like to quit football after the AFCON is over,” Samuel Addo told Jeffries Kwabena Sintim-Koree ‘Chaskele’ on Zylofon Sports.
“It is likely, with these kinds of things he’ll the best man to affirm it, and so I can’t say it on his behalf, but it’s likely. It’s likely, it’s a possibility.
The Kayserispor attacker has scored 53 goals for the Black Stars and also holds the record as the most capped Black Stars player with over 100 appearances for the National team.
Many have called for a reliable replacement for the player who is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s all-time best.
