Ghana’s Parliament has summoned Sports Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah to appear before the House next week over the abysmal performance of the country’s senior national football team, the Black Stars in the almost-ended Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament in Egypt.
Mr Asiamah is also expected to render account to Ghanaians on the expenditure of the team during the Afcon campaign.
The Black Stars were kicked out of the game at the round of 16 stage.
They lost to Tunisia.
Reading the business statement for next week in parliament on Friday, 19 July 2019, the Majority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said Mr Asiamah is expected in the house on Tuesday, 23 July or Wednesday, 24 July 2019.
