Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku has discarded reports that there was serious conflict of interest in appointing CK Akonnor as Black Stars coach.

Akonnor worked with Dreams FC as head coach was also represented by Proton Sports Limited, set up by Okraku.

But the GFA boss revealed he has cut ties with the sports management firm after relinquishing his stakes in the club.

Early this month, the Executive Council announced the hiring of Akonnor, a former Black Stars captain, as the new coach of the senior national team to replace Kwesi Appiah whose contract was not renewed.

''I don't manage players and coaches. I set up Proton Sports when I was in the UK but I've relinquished my shares so that my undiluted focus goes to Ghana football as the president of the FA,'' Okraku said.
