Ghana coach CK Akonnor has vowed to bring entertaining attacking football back to the national team.
He made the pledge after announcing his maiden squad ahead of this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games with Sudan.
The encounter against Sudan at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 27 will be his first game in charge and the manager insists he will stick to the footballing principles that have brought him success in the past.
“One thing I can assure you will be an offensive-oriented team, a team that will like to pass the ball quick, move to attack and will be able to create chances. I want players who are disciplined, strictly into our tactical play.” Akonnor told media.
“Players who do not do this as discussed within the domain of the team would be in a sort of [I won’t say] trouble. One of the things that I want to do is to just change the attitude of the players” he added.
“There are things that we have done in the past that aren’t right. But my philosophy is that we are going to be an offensive-oriented team”
