Hearts of Oak coach Kosta Papic, says it’s surprising Ghana is missing out from the ongoing Championship for African Nations tournament (CHAN) in Cameroon.
The Black Stars B have failed to qualify for the tournament three times in a row Rwanda (2016), Morocco (2018) and now in Cameroon.
Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat at home in the last qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium against Burkina Faso. A side they later defeated 4-1 at the WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal but failed to score in the return leg tie in Ouagadougou.
Hearts coach Kosta Papic is of the view that there are a lot of talents in the country which should enable the Black Stars B to secure a place in the tournament which is specifically designated for players playing in their domestic leagues. Local Black Stars“I'm very surprised Ghana did not qualify for the CHAN competition. For me, that is very strange. I believe Ghana has quality players to play in that competition”, Kosta Papic said in an interview.
Ghana have been second runners up in this competition in 2009 and 2014 losing to DR Congo and Libya.
