Stephen Leroy Appiah, former captain of the Ghana Black Stars popularly known as “capito” says the late Christian Atsu was one of the coolest guys in the black stars' camp.
According to him, working with Atsu was not difficult because he accepts his mistakes and shows no anger when reprimanded.
Speaking with Peace FM’s Salaamat Kuukua Paintsil at his home in East Legon, the former Fernabahce player eulogizing the late Christian Atsu said he first saw him during the days that they usually play “Monday special” at the Bawaleshie; by then the late Christian Atsu was young and at first sight, he called him young merci due to his special skills on the field.
"The news of the incident and the death of Christian Atsu is a painful one and messed up a lot of things in my life....seeing late Atsu’s wife crying with the kids clapping when Newcastle and Liverpool were paying tribute got me teary.
Meanwhile, he said he will help in whatever way he can for the burial of Atsu.
