Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is set to captain the Black Stars in their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.
Partey has been wearing the armband in the absence of regular captain Andre Ayew, who has not been called up for the last four games by coach Otto Addo.
Partey has been in excellent form for Arsenal this season, notably delivering a standout performance in their recent UEFA Champions League victory over PSG.
The midfielder has also enjoyed a clean bill of health, with Arsenal carefully managing his fitness by resting him when necessary and fielding him in key games.
Ghanaians will be hoping Partey can bring his club form to the national team as the Black Stars prepare for two must-win games.
Currently sitting third in their group, Ghana will need to secure maximum points from their back-to-back fixtures against Sudan on October 11 in Accra and October 14 in Libya to keep their AFCON qualification hopes alive.
