Kwesi Appiah hopes both Sudan and Ghana will secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Currently, the head coach of Sudan's national team, Appiah has guided the Falcons to a win and a loss in their first two AFCON qualifiers, leaving them in second place in Group F with three points.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Stars, coached by Otto Addo, sit in third place with just one point after a 1-0 defeat to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger.
Sudan and Ghana are set to face each other in the next round of qualifiers. Ahead of the matches, Appiah expressed his hope for both teams to progress to the tournament.
"I hope both Ghana and Sudan qualify for the 2025 AFCON," Appiah said in an exclusive interview with Asempa FM. "We just have to pray and hope that we all achieve our goal."
The Black Stars will host Sudan in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT. The return leg will be played on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
