The recent decision of the Supreme Court in Abu Ramadan v. The Electoral Commission (Writ No. J1/14/2016), which is contained in a judgment written by Justice Gbadegbe for a unanimous seven-member panel, has generated a great deal of confusion and misunderstanding in the general public and among diverse legal and opinion commentators.
