In order to promote the free movement of goods within the sub-region, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) adopted among other Protocols relating to the Inter-State Road Transit of Goods (ISRT) and to establish a community guarantee mechanism to facilitate the movement of goods in the West African-Sub Region.
