National Player Awards Unveiled

An award scheme to honour ex and current national team players of Ghana has been out-doored in Accra. The awards dubbed National Player Awardsis being organized by Proton Sports Services under the auspices of the Ghana Football Association and the Retired Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG). Managing Director of Proton Sports Kurt Okraku says the annual event aims to honour and acknowledge the efforts of individuals who have represented any of the national teams. Ghana has always competed for honours in association football, he said. Ghana has been represented by men in the very early days in these recent years by women. Most often there have been accusations or statements of our gallant men and women being not accorded the needed recognition. Hopefully today marks the beginning of our journey and in a big attempt at honouring men and women of this land who have dedicated enormous amount of their lifetime and energies to make Ghana proud at different levels of football. An official launch of the novelty will be held in April to reveal the various categories and incentives of the award scheme.
