NPP Kit Kat Action Cell Inaugurated...To Help Ursula Owusu

The Ablekuma South Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially inaugurated the Dansoman Control Kit Kat action cell to promote the party at the grassroots. The inauguration of 23 executives and other members of the cell is to help Ursula Owusu, Ablekuma South parliamentary candidate of the party, to secure the seat to enable Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo become the next president of Ghana come 2013. The group, which started with six members, currently comprises 880 members. It will educate members on the biometric registration as well as encourage them to register when the exercise starts on 24th March, 2012. Emmanuel Ahale-Mensah, Chairman of the action cell, reiterated the cells commitment to support other polling stations cells in the constituency to capture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He encouraged the gathering to register to obtain the mandate to vote NPP into power come December 2012. Ursula Owusu, in an inaugural address, said the NDC had worsened the plight of Ghanaians by misappropriating resources of the nation through the payment of dubious judgment debts to ineligible people. She said monies paid as judgment debts could have been used to fund the free Senior High School project of Nana Addo. Ms Owusu said although the present government has wasted the nations resources, the NPP will use the abundant resources judiciously to enhance the socio-economic development of the people. She encouraged the gathering, especially women to register and vote for the NPP. Vote and elect a government that has the passion for the development of the people and care for their wellbeing, she said. She also called on party members to be extra vigilant during the registration exercise, adding that the NPP will organize a free and clean campaign devoid of violence. We will not cast or throw the first stone but if we are attacked we will defend ourselves because the constitution of the Republic of Ghana states that we should defend ourselves and our family members when we are attacked, Ursula said. She therefore asked other political parties to entreat their members to respect and conduct themselves according to the rules of electioneering campaigning in the country.
