Abedi Pele: Andre And Jordan Ayew Never Disappoint Me

Abedi Pele believes that his former club Olympique de Marseille will continue to do well, thanks in part to his sons Andre and Jordan Ayew, after they knocked out Italian giants Inter in the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League. Didier Deschamps' side claimed their ticket to the quarter-finals of the competition on the away-goal rule when their round of 16 tie with the Nerazzurri ended 3-3 on aggregate. The Africa football legend, who lifted the European trophy with Marseille in 1993, has a great deal of faith in Les Phoceens. I see a lot of greatness in these young players, the three-time African Best Player told Goal.com in an exclusive interview. I have always believed in youngsters and I believe they will be the team to watch now as the competition enters the closing stages. Abedi then confessed that that his two sons bring plenty of pride to the family name due to their participation in Europe's premier club competition with Marseille. Im proud of my sons and they have always brought joy to the family. Its really stressful watching them in such high-profile games or competitions, but ending with a win always comes with a lot of joy, the former Ghana captain said. I have been telling them to believe in themselves and never play to suit anybody," he added. "They are great players and will go places, especially with Marseille. I love my sons because they have never disappointed me. Abedi will find out who his two sons will go up against in the quarter-finals of the Champions League when the draw is made in Nyon this Friday.
