NDC Laughs Off NPP's Copycat Claims

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker, has laughed off claims by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the ruling party is bootlegging them by holding its Mammoth Rally at Mantse Abgoena, in Accra. The NDC will on Saturday, March 17th, hold what it calls a Mammoth Rally aimed at celebrating the achievements of the NDCs Better Ghana Agenda. The occasion will be used to introduce the partys Greater Accra parliamentary aspirants. But the opposition NPP insists the NDC is simply copying what they had earlier done by also holding their rally at Mantse Agboena of all venues, with the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (Sir John), stating emphatically that the NDC will fail in whatever agenda it has set regarding the choice of venue. However, speaking in an interview on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Ade Coker said Mantse Agboena is the playground of the NDC. Mantse Abgoena is Ga Mashie and the NDC is Ga Mashie so Mantse Agboena is our root and soilMantse Abgoena is also our home and we are taking it back from the people who borrowed it so nobody has the right to complain, he said. The NDC Greater Accra Chairman also discounted claims that the former first family, the Rawlingses have not been officially invited to the rally pointing out that the initial communication lapse has been rectified and the party is looking forward to the presence of its founder.
