I Dont Understand Why Officials Of Waterville Are Walking About So Freely - Randy Abbey

Broadcast Journalist and Host of Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana programme, Randy Abbey, says he does not see why officials of Waterville Holdings (BVI) limited, accused of complicity in the infamous Woyome Judgment Debt payment scandal are walking about so freely without a care in the world. Waterville Holdings (BVI) Limited, the company awarded contracts by the government in 2006 to renovate and construct stadia for the CAN 2008 tournament, says it erred not nor did it engage in any illegality in bidding, executing or laying claims for cancellation of the contracts. The company insists it only sought full compensation for the work it did and the losses it incurred as a result of the governments decision to cancel the contracts. At a press conference in Accra last Monday, the Managing Director of Waterville Holdings Limited, Mr. Andre Orlandi, said despite the constant expression of willingness on the part of the Government of Ghana (GOG) to resolve the matter amicably, no further payments, directly or indirectly were made prior to the change of government on January 7, 2009. But juxtaposing the press release and other documents issued by Waterville and statements issued on behalf of Woyome by his Communication Team, Randy Abbey claims the company is deceiving the country. According to him, the entire statement read out during Watervilles recent press conference was full of deceit, save only one paragraph which was factual; and that is M-Powapak, a firm represented by Mr. Alfred Woyome, was hired for a fee by Waterville to provide financial advisory and consulting services for a limited period to assist in Waterville financing the stadia contract Speaking as a panelist on Peace FMs morning show Kokrokoo with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Randy was emphatic in his submission that "there is only one truth in the press statement that was released by Waterville". "...They lied in every single paragraph. The only issue they spoke the truth was M-Powapak and Woyome; the fact that they hired their services apart from that everything was a lie. Complete dishonestyThey never were part of any competitive bidding for five stadia in the Republic of Ghana that they wonBlatant lie. I dont see why those people are walking free (they need to be arrested)the various letters issued out by Waterville, contradicts itself and gives an indication that Waterville is hiding something "Kwami, when you read the statement by Woyomes Communication Team, they claim Waterville paid for services that had to do with HSBCand their issue with government has to do with Bank AustriaKwami, you do recall that a couple of weeks ago, I read a letter that Waterville wrote to the minister saying as you may well be aware, Bank of Austria withdrew, blah, blah, blahI overheard one of his (Woyomes) spokespersons claiming the 1.2billion euros came to Ghana and its the biggest in Africa. Where is that money?...What Parliament approved the 1.2 euros? Is it the Parliament in Tudu or Abeka Freepipe or Madina Social Welfare?...How come we owe the Bank of Austria 1.2billion euros and yet since 2006, theyve not demanded for their monies?...Or perhaps the money did arrive in Ghana but is hanging somewhere in the skies and when you need it you pull it down like a kite?...What kind of Aluworks is this? he stated.
