ENGLAND Chelsea capped an impressive week with a 5-2 drubbing of Leicester City at the Stamford Bridge in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Michael Essien came off the bench after 62 minutes to help the Blues course as Fernando Torres ended his goal drought by bagging a brace. Essien was involved in the sequence of play that saw Raul Meireles score the fifth goal. Right-back John Pantsil was left out of the Leicester City squad once more but Jeffrey Schulpp played 28 minutes for Leicester. In the Npower Championship, Lloyd Sam watched Leeds United�s 1-1 draw game with West Ham United from the stands. Former Liverpool youngster David Amoo was introduced in the 59th minute for Bury which disgracefully lost 4-1 on home grounds to Wycombe Wanderers. ITALY Youngster Amidu Salifu and Maxwell Boadu Acosty watched Fiorentina�s 5-0 humiliation to Juventus from the bench. Sulley Muntari continued his impressive showing by playing full time in their 2-0 win over Parma. Midfielder Afriyie Acquah played the last ten minutes for ten-man Palermo which drew 1-1 at Lecce. In the Serie B, striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom played the full 90 minutes for Sassuolo who defeated AlbinoLeffe 3-2 at their own backyard. His compatriot Isaac Cofie was introduced after 68 minutes. In the reserves league, Joseph Alfred Duncan scored the second for Inter Milan in their 3-1 win at AlbinoLeffe on Saturday. The intelligent midfielder scored on the 27th minute. Former Ghana U20 defender Bright Addae played the full 90 minutes for Parma in their 2-0 win over Sassuolo. Midfielder Godfred Adolf warmed the Parma bench. The former Panionios midfielder was assigned a central holding midfield role. Andre Ayew was out with a shoulder injury but Jordan Ayew was a second half substitute. Croaked Rabiu Mohammed did not travel with Evian Thonon Gaillard�s team as they defeated Auxerre 2-0 in an away fixture. Defender Jonathan Mensah failed to make the first team grade. Caen managed to play out a 2-2 draw with big-spending PSG. Enterprising defender Jerry Vandam received a booking in the 29th minute and played full throttle for Caen. There was no place in the Olympique Lyon team for Ghana captain John Mensah as they pipped Saint-Etienne 1-0. AC Milan striker Dominic Adiyiah watched from the bench as his Arsenal Kiev held Tavriya to a 1-1 draw. Winger Abeiku Quansah continued to stay out of the Arsenal Kiev first team squad. Derek Boateng did not make the trip with FC Dnipro to Dynamo Kiev due to suspension but defender Samuel Inkoom played 78 minutes as they lost 2-0. PORTUGAL FC Porto loanee Christian Atsu Twasam was involved in full time action for Rio Ave which lost 1-0 to Uniao de Leiria. SERBIA Striker Nathaniel Asamoah�s debut for Red Star Belgrade was delayed once again after failing to make the first team sheet in their 1-4 win at Borca BSK. Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah was left out of the Vojvodina team who won 2-0 over Sloboda Sevojno. Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Francis Bossman played full throttle for Sloboda Sevojno.
