Prez Mills Visits Agbogbloshie Market...Inspects Work On Madina-Adentan Road

President John Evans Atta Mills has re-echoed his government�s resolve to addressing the challenges facing traders in the country. According to him traders play a critical role in Ghana�s economy thus the need for government to support their activities. Addressing market men and women at Agbogbloshie, plantain markets and some road construction sites here in Accra as part of his unannounced visits to markets and projects sites in Accra to acquaint himself with problems and challenges bedeviling traders and non traders alike and finding solutions to the problems, President Mills urged the market women to keep faith and partner government for accelerated development. All activities at the Agbogbloshie market at Old Fadama came to a halt as the market women and men came out in their numbers to welcome President Mills. Some enthusiastic women went to the extent of laying their cover cloths on the ground for the President to walk on. The Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuiye and the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Joseph Nii Laryea Afortey Agbo, both outlined plans by government to decongest the market and give relief to the women. The elated market women and the Assistant Market Queen, Aunty Donkor, on her part, commended government for the visit, and assured government of their support at all times. From the Agbogbloshie market, the President's tour took him to the Madina-Adentan road which is progressing steadily.
