Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North in the Central Region, has asked residents of Ashaiman to drag and stone him like Stephen in the Holy Bible if he does not single-handedly establish a company in the areas should the Ashaiman electorate vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7. Mr. Agyapong said, �This is a solemn promise from me, Kennedy, to all voters of Ashaiman that if I don�t create a company in the area to reciprocate my appreciation to you for voting massively for the NPP, treat me like Stephen in the Bible: stone me.� Addressing an NPP gathering in Ashaiman where the Mantseman North Electoral Area of the party introduced its 17 campaign polling station executives last Sunday, the Assin North MP wondered why residents of Ashaiman would continue to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in spite of the abject poverty and stunted development the party had brought on them. He said the NDC needed to reciprocate the massive votes the electorate gave to the party in every general election by providing them with decent jobs and massively developmental projects �because they always tout this area as their World Bank so even when they neglect you and later come back to you and distribute bags of rice, sardine and some little money to you, you will still vote for them�. Mr. Agyapong assured the sizeable gathering that he had the financial strength to establish a company to employ the youth of Ashaiman, arguing that he had done it in his electoral area and so building a company in Ashaiman would not be a new challenged to him. Touching on national unity; Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong said he refused to attend last Sunday�s interdenominational national prayer and thanksgiving service held at the Independence Square in Accra because, according to him, President Mills sat comfortably and enjoying insults hurled at Nana Addo and him, Ken Agyapong. He alleged that �Last Saturday at the NDC rally at Mantse Agbona in Accra, President Mills heard Fiifi Kwetey, Johnson Aseidu-Nketia and Anita De-Sosoo hurling insults at the NPP and its leaders. President Mills pretended he did not hear his own people. He goes about parading himself to Ghanaians as a man of peace and preaches that we should avoid the politics of insults. �I told my party executives that I was not ready to attend such an interdenominational service where I would meet with hypocrites, but if they would attend the service, it was up to them.� According to him, the conduct of the NDC would not promote national unity and peace should what happened at their regional rally continue. Mr. Agyapong charged the polling station agents to explain further the alleged hardship and corruption the NDC had visited on Ghanaians. He asked them to move from house to house carrying a tin of �gari� and ask the people to compare the present price of the commodity to how much it cost during the tenure of the NPP in order to build a strong campaign message against the NDC. On corruption, he charged the NPP to hit hard on the state�s money the NDC had allegedly doled out to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, Construction Pioneers (CP) and the owner of TRASACO Valley Estate.
