9 Schools Get ICT Centres

About Nine (9) selected schools within the Agona East District of the Central Region have benefited from Information Communication Technology (ICT) centres, to help improve the teaching and learning of ICT. Three of the beneficiary schools were noted to be second cycle institutions whereas the additional six were basic school. They are Swedru Senior High School, Nsaba Senior High School and Kokoadu Senior High School. The rest are Nsaba Presby Junior High School (JHS), Duakwa Islamic JHS, Mensah-krom AUDA JHS, Nsaba Islamic JHS, Mankrong AUDA JHS and Akwankwa DA JHS respectively. Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive Martin Luther Obeng disclosed that the ICT centres in the basic schools have been stocked with about 24 computer laptops each with specifications of 250 gigabyte hard drive, 2 gigabyte internal memory, Bluetooth and web-camera to help equip students with the modern ICT knowledge. He said the project which was financed by the government of Ghana have been duly completed and in use. He further revealed that Nsaba Presby JHS, one of the beneficiaries of the ICT centers is also set to benefit from a 6 unit classroom block to enhance teaching and learning, adding the project was aimed at to improving infrastructure in the school.
