Muntari's Axing From AC Milan's Champs Lge Squad Explained

Italian side AC Milan failed to register in-form Ghana star Sulley Muntari in their squad for the Champions League because he was not rated as a versatile player. But officials of the former European champions have admitted that they could regret their decision of leaving out the Ghanaian player. The midfielder has become an instant hit with the Rossoneri after struggling in his stay two-year with city rivals Inter Milan. Muntari joined the club on loan from Inter in January but has become a key player for AC Milan, helping them to win some of their key matches in recent times. His performances has prompted experts to ask why AC Milan coach Allegri left out the Ghanaian from his Champions League squad. Muntaris agent says the versatility of AC Milans Algerian defender Djamel Mesbah led to the coachs decision to leave the Ghanaian out of the squad. But Federico Pasterello says AC Milan might rue the decision of leaving out the Ghanaian from their squad from the worlds toughest club competition. Yes, MIlan might regret not being able to benefit from his contribution in the competition, Pasterello said. Allegri made a difficult choice preferring the flexibility of Djamel Mesbah who can play in midfield as well as the defence. It must be pointed out however that Sulley knew of that decision before he accepted to join Milan.
