A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku, believes Deputy Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Fifi Kwetey has a personal covenant to double-speak. To him, it is highly impossible to trust a single word the deputy minister says. Last Thursday, at the �Setting The Records Straight (2)� press conference dubbed �Mills� Phenomenal Economic Infrastructure Record Vis a Vis NPPs Comical Record� Fifi Kwetey chronicled what he said were unprecedented achievements in the energy, road infrastructure, and agriculture sectors of the economy. According to him, achievements under ex-president Kufuor�s eight year rule pales in comparison with gains made in just three years of President Mills� administration. But speaking on Oman FM�s �National Agenda�, Samuel Awuku rubbished these claims, stating that most of the achievements touted by the Deputy Finance Minister are plain lies. He accused the deputy minister of rising to his present status by engaging in propaganda and wondered why someone in government still wants to set the records straight. �This man has a personal covenant with telling lies�he at onetime claimed all the country�s Gold Reserves have been sold and the economy the NDC inherited was a cocaine induced one�The allowance he is receiving from serving on the Board of the GCB should be enough to feed two hundred NDC foot soldiers for two years. He is being paid nearly GHC15000 as allowance and not salary for just a year�.He lied when they were in opposition to get to where he is�The 2012 elections is approaching and he has resorted to what he knows best but this time it won�t fly,� Sammy Awuku said.
