Asante Kotoko feel they have been meted a raw deal after the Ghana FA turned down their request to increase ticket prices for Sunday�s league tie with Hearts of Oak.
The Kumasi-based club was looking to cash in on the massive turnout expected for big Ghanaian derby by increasing gate fees to help defray the massive debts it has recently been saddled with.
Kotoko is to pay about 135, 000 Euros in consolidated fines for the wrongful sacking of a coach (Hans Dieter Schmidt) and failure to honor transfer commitments to clubs after player sales.
The club have since launched a massive fundraising project with the epic clash with Hearts paramount to rake in the needed funds to pay off the debts.
Kotoko thus wrote to the GFA seeking permission to undertake the increment � a plea which was flatly turned down.
The club however feels hard-done in expressing their disappointment in the decision.
�The Executive Chairman is extremely disappointed and gutted by this decision,� the club�s Public and Supporter Relations Manager Listowell Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.
�The club has noticed that there are elements at the GFA and its affiliate bodies who are bent on frustrating the club.
�We are however ready to stand up to fight the system to protect the Kotoko interest.
�These same elements frustrated the registration of Michael Helegbe and Kingsley Nteng but Kotoko is a big club and it is time to make that point clear.�
