NDCs Green Book II Should Be Christened "Book Of Lies

Deputy Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Mike Oquaye Jnr, has rubbished the unprecedented achievements documented in the National Democratic Congress (NDCs) Green Book 2, saying the manuscript should rather have rather christened Book of Lies or Propaganda Book. A couple of days ago, Vice President John Mahama officially launched the NDCs Better Ghana Agenda II otherwise known as "Green Book II" at the Castle, Osu, as a compendium of the achievements of the government and stated that the book will cure critics who are suffering from mental block syndrome. I dont intend to be abusive of anybody. I am just describing a certain syndrome. If you detest somebody so much you will never see the good the person does. Even if the whole world is acclaiming him, you wont see anything he does. And it is a social psychological phenomenon that acts as a mental block. So even if you are seeing the good things the person is doing, in your mind it doesnt register, John Mahama said at the launch. The book, which covers four thematic areas of: building a strong economy, expanding infrastructure for growth, investing in people and transparent and accountable governance; also documents development projects executed by the NDC government. The 87-page book also features various development projects from all the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies and some of the unprecedented achievements such as GDP growth of 13.6 percent, longest sustained single-digit inflation, one million metric tons of cocoa production and the setting up of the constitutional review committee, among other issues. But speaking on Oman FMs National Agenda programme Lawyer Mike Oquaye Jnr. posited that the NDCs assertion of having attained an unprecedented sustained single digit inflation rate and stability of the currency is a cheap feat since it only managed to lower inflation by not spending.
