The Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency has rendered an unqualified apology to the Rawlingses for disseminating false information regarding the meeting between some Volta Chiefs and the ex President at his Ridge residence. Mr. Nyaunu after the meeting is on record to have stated that ex President Rawlings is demanding the removal of Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the ruling NDC, and also wants President Mills to retrieve the GH�51 million judgment debt paid to Alfred Woyome. Mr. Nyaunu added that according to Mr. Rawlings the removal of General Mosquito among other conditions would help his return to the President Mills campaign team for the 2012 elections. However, in a sharp u-turn on Breakfast XYZ, the outspoken MP conceded that he erred and completely misfired in his earlier position. He categorically stated that former President Rawlings throughout the meeting never demanded the removal of Asiedu Nketia before linking up with President Mills. �I must say that nowhere did former President Rawlings at the meeting with the Chiefs make certain conditions as being reported. That is not the position, it is not correct, it is not true. �The founder never gave conditions before he joining the NDC campaign, he maintained his positions that the values and principles of the party have been destroyed. I must apologize for my earlier position; I really misfired along the line because I have a lot on my bloody head. �This is the true position; they were not discussed at all. The meeting was inconclusive because he [Rawlings] had equally important meetings. I apologize for it, I really apologize for it, it is a little mess up� Mr. Nyaunu said. Mr. Nyaunu however dismissed assertions that he has been pressed upon by the Rawlingses to deny his earlier position. According to him, he only goofed and want Ghanaians to forgive him. Meanwhile, the Volta Chiefs have also denied that ex President Rawlings want some conditions to be met before he campaigns for President Mills. The spokesperson for the delegation of traditional rulers, Togbe Hotormaho Amedzake III, told Breakfast XYZ that President Rawlings never made conditions and is surprised where the report emanated from. He however added that the NDC will visit President Mills to find an amicable solution to the problem with the founder of the NDC when the need arises.
