The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated its commitment to �see to the qualitative improvement of all workers of this country.� The NDC in a May Day statement promises to �continue to stand for workers� rights, unlike the ideological foes of the working class who at a time in the nation�s history tried to disband Trade Unionism in this country.� The statement called on Ghanaians across the country to reflect on the party�s �commitment and contribution to the course of labour and its ramifications on the country�s development.� Read the full statement below The National Democratic Congress (NDC) extends its warmest felicitations and congratulation to Ghanaian workers on the occasion of May Day. We join all Ghanaians and the world over to commend you for your hard work towards the socio-economic and political development, even in the face of challenges confronting your efforts. The NDC believes that your dedication, selflessness and commitment to work has influenced the country�s productivity and sustain the serene labour environment prevailing in the country. We wish to salute Ghanaian workers on this auspicious occasion of workers day. The NDC as a Social Democratic party shares in the aspirations of the Ghanaian worker. It is the resolve of the NDC to see to the qualitative improvement of all workers of this country. Invariably, the efforts and sacrifices of the Trade Unions have been recognized by the NDC as it seeks to build a better Ghana. We wish to remind the workers of the bond of friendship between labour and progressive forces such as the NDC. We NDC shall continue to stand for workers rights, unlike the ideological foes of the working class who at a time in the nation�s history tried to disband Trade Unionism in this country. As allies, the NDC believes in collaboration, fair wages and the respect for workers� human rights and dignity. We urge all Ghanaians to use the occasion to reflect on our commitment and contribution to the course of labour and its ramifications on the country�s development.
