Rawlings & Kufuor Got 8yrs; Mills Deserves 8 Too Veep

The Vice-President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has appealed to Ghanaians to give the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) another term in office since previous governments of the Fourth Republic had eight years each. The first President of the Fourth Republic under the current 1992 Constitution, Jerry John Rawlings ruled from 1992 to 2000 whiles his successor J.A. Kufuor took over from 2001 to 2008. Vice President Mahama is arguing that in order for Ghanaians to make a credible and an unbiased analysis and evaluation of the achievements of all governments, including that of President J.E.A Mills of the Fourth Republic , it will be prudent to give his boss a second chance come the December elections He also stated that the unprecedented achievements of the NDC II government clearly show that they deserve a second term in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. President Mills has been in office for four years and with the work he has done he certainly deserves a second term, Vice President Mahama said during the launch of the Ghana Urban Development Project in the Volta Region. If for nothing at all let us give him eight years so that then we have the basis for doing proper comparison with other governments. President Rawlings got eight years, President Kufuor had eight and so President Mills also deserves eight years. He added: Recently, I was in Liberia for the inauguration of President Johnson Sirleaf and the slogan of her party was interesting and Im sure you all know of the slogan, Monkey dey work baboon dey chop but President Sirleafs own was that Monkey still dey work, so make baboon wait small NDC is the monkey and we are still working and let the chops accumulate and after that we shall invite the baboon to come and have their fair share.
