Members of the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana (UGAG) have called on government to institute proper measures to improve their lives.
A release issued in Accra and signed by Adi Namaran Lamisi, General Secretary of the Association, noted that although the labour force is the most important aspect that boosts the country�s economy, government was doing nothing to improve it.
�We, as citizens of this country, fervently hope that the government will also look towards our direction and find a lasting and suitable solution to the unemployment situation.�
�Acquiring the needed education, skills and abilities and being able to use these appropriately for the progress of the nation is every graduate�s dream, however most graduates find it difficult to get employment due to limited companies.�
Unemployed graduates, who want to establish their own businesses, find it difficult in accomplishing their dreams in the country due to the lack of capital.
The statement noted that while Ghanaian workers celebrate this year�s Labour Day, government should reflect on the situation in the country to find better ways of addressing it.
UGAG members were unhappy with being described as lazy and unproductive on a daily basis. �We trust that the minimum wage can be enhanced for the benefit of all workers.�
�Once again, we want to wish all Ghanaian workers Ayekoo and hope that very soon, we will also have the opportunity to join the working force to make our country a better place.�
