Sisters Burnt To Death In Obuasi

Two sisters have died from severe wounds caused by an outbreak of fire in the room in which they were sleeping. The unfortunate incident which occurred on Wednesday took place in the community of Bossman, Obuasi, in the Ashanti Region. All hope was lost when the victims, Fridaws Ibrahim, 5, and Suweiba Ibrahim, 3, were rushed to the Bryant Mission Hospital in Obuasi. The former died on arrival at the hospital and her younger sister was later pronounced dead by the doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Officer in Charge of Operations at the Ghana Fire Service in Obuasi, Lawrence Yeboah told XYZ News he suspects the fire was caused by an electrical fault because the fire started from the ceiling of the room. The Obuasi Divisional Police Commander, ACP Kofi Dwumfour-Berthie, also indicated that the police are waiting for the autopsy report from the hospital to continue investigations into the matter.
