When Was The Last Time You Saw The Yellow Kufuor Gallons?

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to the Greater Accra Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kobina Ade-Coker, will live to regret and wonder what hit them after the general elections slated for later this year. The Chairman said the NDC is in line for a second resounding victory over the NPP as a result of the impressive human-centred projects implemented under the Better Ghana Agenda. This government has done so well, even our friends in opposition talk about it privately. But because of politics, they pretend they could have done better, he stated. According to him, developmental projects are so widespread that aspiring NDC parliamentarians in the region can sweep all 27 seats in the region with very little effort. As far as Greater Accra is concerned, NPP can forget about winning parliamentary seats. The NPP will be embarrassed at the outcome of the results, and it will be so clear they will concede humbly. We will maintain all current seats and further take seats like Ablekuma North, Ayawaso Central, Weija and Okaikoi North, he said. Mr. Kobina Ade-Coker said the massive infrastructural development in these and other constituencies in the Greater Accra Region speak volumes about the expected outcome of the impending elections. Take a place like Dansoman, it was a death trap for motorists and pedestrians, but currently there is a dual carriage way about 90 percent complete. [The] Teshie-Nungua Road is there for everybody to see, as well as the entire Teshie township where all the roads have been completed or nearing completion, he said. He continued, AMA is building 18-storey building school blocks with eight completed so far; clinics have been built and others renovated; Ashaiman has a new ICT centre with an administration block. We have eliminated the shift systems in basic schools in Accra. And let me ask you, when was the last time you saw the yellow Kufuor gallons? he asked. He said Ghanaians should ask the government of the NPP about mobilisation funds paid to a contractor engaged under the Ghana at 50 celebrations to install street lights on the Tema Motorway, but ended up erecting only the poles and abandoning the project. Within these few years under the NDC we can all see the difference, he stated. He mentioned the Circle-Ofankor road which, according to him, is 99 percent complete and only awaiting the presidents inauguration. He also commented on the Tetteh Quarshie-Adenta road which, he said, is awaiting the Legon stretch to make it completely motorable. Everybody is now asking what the NPP came to do in the eight years and what do they want to come back for? Its too bad for them because comparing what they did and what we are doing, Ghanaians have made up their minds, he stated.
