My Hands Are Clean - Vice President Mahama

The Vice President of Ghana, John Mahama, has in a vehement manner denied allegations that he is meddling in chieftaincy matters, particularly the Buipe issue. He said his hands are clean when it comes to chieftaincy matters in Ghana because he does not have any interest in the Buipe chieftaincy issue. Vice President Mahama said the government would not have lost all the cases it is prosecuting in court if he had the powers to control the Judiciary. I dont have any interest in the Buipe chieftaincy issue, he pointed out. My only interest is to ensure that Buipe is at peace. I dont care who is the chief of Buipe. Its not my problem or interest. When people make remarks and behave like Im interfering or I am telling the judges how to rule in the Buipe chieftaincy issues, it is absolute falsehood. If I could tell judges how to rule in cases, government will not be losing all our cases in court. We have taken 13 government cases to court and we have been thrown out, Mahama said during the commissioning of a Gh30 million shea processing factory to produce 12,000 tons of shea butter yearly. He added: If I could influence judges then we would have won all those cases. I dont have any interest in the Buipe chieftaincy issue.
