Ghana To Benefit From $3bn From US

Ghana and some other African countries are to benefit from a 3 billion dollar fund to help fight hunger on the continent. The fund was announced by US President Barack Obama at the G8 Summit on Friday. President Obama said the level of starvation that has engulfed parts of Africa is �unacceptable� adding that some private US investment companies would be investing a total of more than 3 billion dollars in Africa to deal with the starvation. Mr Obama said "It's a moral imperative, it's an economic imperative and it's a security imperative... there is no reason why Africa cannot feed itself." In an interview with Citi News, Information Minister Fritz Baffour said Ghana�s share of the grant will be channeled fully into developing the agric sector.
