Incredible!!! Is Ghana For The Rawlingses? Kwesi Pratt Asks

As a nation, is our priority the Rawlingses? Are we supposed to talk about Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings when the Russians are evicting Ghanaians studying in their country from their hostels?...The rains would come soon and instead of strategizing to avoid people from dying (as a result of would-be flooding), we are here talking about Rawlings-Konadu, Rawlings-Konadu, Rawlings-Konadu. Why? The above is a passage from remarks made by Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper when he was given the floor to comment on the speech delivered by Mr. Rawlings last Tuesday, during the celebration of the 30th anniversary ceremony of the 31st December Womens Movement at the Golden Tulip Hotel. A clearly riled Kwesi Pratt bemoaned how the Rawlingses seem to have captured the imagination of the public so much so that they (Rawlingses) dominated the topic of discussion on almost every media network whiles pressing issues were relegated to the background. Speaking on Hot FM, he bemoaned how Ghanaians have allowed their glory to be stolen by the former First Family, pointing out that it is time Ghanaians confronted Mr Rawlings over his utterances rather than seek individual advantages on such occasions. According to Kwesi Pratt, Ghanaians are tired of the Rawlingses who he said have hijacked the country since 1979, questioning whether Ghana belongs to the former first family due to their consistent criticisms of ruling government. So, cant they let us have our peace of mind? If they had done what was right for the 19years they were in power, would we have gotten to where they have plunged us? Nkrumah was in power for 9years and left us properties numbering up to four hundred. You (Mr. Rawlings), had 19years, and before he left office, he had sold almost all the factories Nkrumah bequeath to the nation. Again, before he left office, both money supply and inflation rate were over 40%, he said. He slammed the framers of the NDCs constitution for deceiving Ghanaians that their party was founded on the ideas and principles of Mr. Rawlings. According to him, the NDC somehow felt that if passed over, Mr. Rawlings will have a go at them, thus they were compelled to describe him as their founder when their (NDC) constitution was being drafted. Mr. Rawlings was more or less a godwith clean character (to the NDC).fear was used as a weapon against anybody who was not on the side of Mr. RawlingsWhen issues about Mr. Rawlings come up, it is either you shut up if you dont agree or speak for him, he said.
