Tigo Slashes Pay-As You-Go Internet Prices By 80%

Tigo Ghana has drastically reduced its Pay-As-You-Go internet tariffs by 80 percent, less than a month after launching its unbeatable Unlimited Internet package to customers. A statement signed by Ms Grace Boateng, Brands Communication Category, Consumer Department of Tigo to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said, by this, Tigo is giving all its customers who have not subscribed to any of Tigos Internet packages, the opportunity to browse the internet at 80 percent discount. This new change is open to all Tigo Subscribers, Ms Boateng noted. Pay-As-You-Go internet service is when a subscriber browses the internet without subscribing to any data package. All a subscriber does is to pick up their phone and start browsing. Mr Tenu Awoonor, Tigo Ghanas Head of Marketing, said Tigo intends to be the network of choice for any internet savvy Ghanaian by giving them the opportunity to browse the internet for as long as they want at affordable rates. Mr. Awoonor added: We promised and we have delivered, Tigo will continue to provide quality network, excellent data packages and outstanding products and services which are affordable, accessible and available for all. Technology pundits have predicted that with the continued reduction in the price of voice calls, the future existence and sustainability of mobile operators is dependent on their ability to quickly focus and make significant gains in innovations and data services. The recent introduction of the Unlimited Internet packages and the slashing of their PayAs-You-Go tariffs are clear indications that Tigo is moving in this direction, the statement said.
