Two members of an armed robbery gang operating on the Accra-Aflao road have been killed at Kpone near Tema after they engaged the police in a gunfire exchange.
Seven others were also arrested in the operation last night and are to be processed for court in the coming days.
The Police Buffalo unit in Tema teamed up with police in Ashiaman in thwarting the activities of the robbery gang which was about attacking motorists plying that stretch of road.
The Tema regional Police Commander, DCOP Maxwell Atingani said they were tipped off about the operations of the gang and had to shoot and kill some of the robbers after they refused to stop when asked to.
