Andre Ayew: Winning U-20 World Cup Is Happiest Moment In My Life

Andre Ayew says the happiest moment so far in his career is winning the U-20 World Cup in 2009. The 22-year-old led the Black Satellites to Africas first World Cup feat in Egypt a feat which catapulted the career of the son of legendary Abedi Pele and many of his colleagues to greater heights. Eight members of that World conquering squad earned promotion to the Black Stars at the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola and eventually to the World Cup in South Africa. They are now fast growing into the main nucleus of the senior national team as Ghana launches another bid for a third successive World Cup appearance. And the Marseille midfielder says that moment where he held the World cup aloft was and is the greatest and happiest moment of his young career. That feeling according to the talented Ayew surmounts the one he felt after being named BBc African Footballer of the Year and being shortlisted for the Caf African Player of the Year in 2011. My happiest moment is when we won the U-20 World Cup, he said. From that moment I have never felt that better especially for my colleagues and the nation.
