Re-Arrest Ken AgyapongHe Has Flouted Bond To Be Of Good Behaviour

A member of the Communications team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling on the Chief State Prosecutor to seek for the re-arrest of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin North, Hon Kennedy Agyapong for flouting his bail conditions. Samuel George insists that for the NPP MP to speak on events relating to his case in court by indicting his own party for abandoning him, is an indication that he has no remorse for his actions. The tranquility of Ekumfi Nyarkwa, a settler community in the Central Region was broken last week after a 60-year-old man, who is the head of the royal family of the village, Nana Eguase, was found beheaded near his farm. The incident led to reprisal attack by the Fante indigenes in the region on Ewe settlers in the community. Three casualties were recorded and several houses burnt down. After a tour of the troubled spot, the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwaa Doe blamed the Assin North MP for the violence saying his recent war declaration against Ewes and Gas led to the incident. Unhappy with the accusation, Kennedy Agyapong, in a sharp rebuttal, slammed the Regional Minister for trying to score cheap political points by capitalising on his comments and also for failing to bring developmental projects to the area. The NPP firebrand further accused his own party of betraying him after he made his genocidal comments on OmanFM. According to him, the NPP is not worth dying for and cited how the NDC rallied to the support of the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, after he claimed President Mills had sacked the Ashanti Regional Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) because he (Mills) was upset at the floodlights malfunction at the Baba Yara Sports stadium during a World Cup Qualifier between Ghana and Lesotho. But the Assin North MPs flare-up has led to some raising concerns whether his actions is a volition of the bail bond he signed to be on good behavior after his arrest in April. Speaking on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji programme, the NDC activist opined that the Assin North MP had breached the basis for which he was granted bail and therefore needs to be arrested. Kennedys statement points to the fact that he has no remorse for the statement he made. He was peeved that the NPP has betrayed himclearly, Kennedys action yesterday, flouts the basis for which he was granted bail and I call on the Chief State Prosecutor to go back to the court and ask for Kennedys immediate arrest because he has flouted his bail conditions. Kennedy Agyapong has not behaved himself, he has proved that he has not shown remorse for his irresponsible statementhe is taken issues with his own political party because he claim they did not side with him and apparently I am shocked because the welcome that was given to him; the man was carried shoulder higha show of support for him but the man said that was not enoughhe said they have betrayed him for not supporting him in his genocidal statements. The bond he signed was to be of good behaviorAs far as he is concerned; he has been betrayedthe Chief state Attorney must go back to the court first thing on Monday (to ask for his arrest), Samuel George said.
