KENNEDY OHENE Agyapong, the embattled Member of Parliament for Assin North in the Central region has revealed he is prepared to die or serve a prison sentence rather than close his eyes to corruption and falsehood.
According to him, there was no way he would allow threats from the NDC to discourage him from exposing their corrupt practices.
�Because Ken always wants the truth, the NDC has conspired to silence and sentence me. I would serve any sentence alright, but that would not deter me from speaking the truth.�
Addressing a large number of NPP supporters in Accra during the inauguration of Friends of Ken (FOK) by Makola NPP women traders, Mr. Agyapong took the time to explain to supporters why he was always criticizing the NDC administration.
The MP attributed who was recently arrested and detained for allegedly declaring war in Ghana attributed the current harsh economic conditions to corruption in the NDC whose members were grabbing as much loot as possible before the party was voted out of power.
He complained about the high levels of corruption in the Mills administration saying that being a businessman he often came across strategic/secret information which even economic experts would never know.
According to him, besides the GH�51.2million paid to Alfred Woyome, the NDC administration plans to outwit Ghanaians by giving out more money to such undeserving people. �Now it is time for Ghanaians to know what the NDC is up to. Research has proved that the NDC has released $18 million to one Saeed, an Egyptian who came during the tenure of the NPP under circumstances that should baffle any concerned citizen of the country.�
He said during the NPP�s term in office, Saaed under a company called Ecobert promised to build seven hospitals for Ghana. According to him, the NPP government gave him a sovereign guarantee to go and look for money to build the said hospitals and assured him government would pay him immediately the project was completed.
�The contract commenced in November 2008 and he promised to build the hospital within 42 months. Payment was expected to be made after completion of the project. However immediately the NDC assumed power, the Mills administration changed the sovereign guarantee to a promissory note which is as good as cash,� he said.
The Ghana government he said had cut the sod for the hospital project and President Mills and his administrators were allegedly demanding an estimated $147million which nobody knows what it�s meant for.
He added that he would make more revelations after June because he could not look on unconcerned and allow the NDC to drag the economy into the gutter.
Ursula Owusu, NPP parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South on her part commended the women for supporting Mr. Agyapong. She urged them to work hard and embark on effective campaigns wherever they find themselves.
