The Young Patriots, a youth wing of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a 21 day ultimatum to government to retrieve the 51 million cedis judgement debt paid to Alfred Agbesi Woyome or face series of civil unrest to back their demands. The group believes the recent discharge and subsequent fraudulent charges brought against Mr Woyome, is testament of a grand conspiracy by the Presidency to scuttle the Woyome's successful prosecution, and therefore warns that failure to comply with the ultimatum could result in the holding of massive demonstrations at the country's embassies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, UK together with other Ghanaians in the Diaspora. In a statement issued today, the Young Patriots also warned that it might consider petitioning Parliament to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President or even go on a hunger strike as a means of drawing international attention to the plight of Ghanaians. Read below the full statement issued by the Young Patriots. 21 DAY ULTIMATUM TO PREZ OVER WOYOME MONEY It is crystal clear to all descending Ghanaians by now that there is a grand conspiracy by the Presidency to scuttle the successful prosecution of Alfred Agbesi Woyome. The recent discharge and subsequent fraudulent charges brought against Woyome, is an indication that the President and indeed the government are not willing to successfully prosecute Woyome and retrieve the tax payers money. We the Young Patriots are aggrieved at the President�s handling of this case. The role of the NDC rented press together with their legal cabal, who have jointly sworn to mess up an otherwise good case is in the least, disgraceful to the image of the government and the people of Ghana. These shenanigans by the government will not be tolerated any further and we hereby give the President 21 days to act to retrieve our monies or we shall take the following actions: 1. In Conjunction with Ghanaians in the Diaspora especially the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and UK hold massive demonstrations at Ghana�s embassies in those countries and in Ghana simultaneously. 2. Petition the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President in accordance with the President�s oath of office. 3. Failure by Parliament to impeach the President, we will go on hunger strike by converging at the independence square or a location close to it to vent our frustrations and draw international attention to the plight of Ghanaians. 4. Any other means that we may deem necessary and effective to retrieve the stolen monies. Ghanaians in the past were tied to the stakes and shot for far less. Thank God for democracy, legal means available to us shall be maximized to retrieve our monies.
