Akufo Addo Fires Salvos At The Atta Mills-Led Administration

The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has assured Ghanaians corruption will have no place under his watch if he gets the nod as president after the December polls. Speaking to enthusiastic NPP supporters ahead of a six-day tour of the Upper West region of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo said Ghanaians would begin to enjoy the fruit of their toil when the NPP returns to power. He fired salvos at the President John Evans Atta Mills-led administration describing it as a government that has failed to address the plight of the poor, while officials engage in massive corruption. �We�re going to give Ghana an honest government and not a corrupt chop, chop government like we have now,� Nana Akufo-Addo promised the electorate. Nana Addo, who is the main contender to the ruling National Democratic Congress� (NDC) candidate, President Mills, reiterated that education and health will remain paramount if he becomes the first gentleman of the country. �We�re going to make sure that every boy or child in this country gets access to free secondary education,� Nana Addo, who served as a Foreign Minister under the Kufuor administration pointed out. �We�ll make sure that the National Health Insurance Scheme provides good healthcare for everybody in this country.�
