Fallen Truck Stops Traffic Near Kaneshie

Traffic on the Odorkor�Kaneshie road was brought to a standstill in the early hours of yesterday when a KIA truck with registration number GS 6065-Y suddenly climbed the centre strip in the middle of the tri-carriageway and fell on its side, unloading loaded sacks onto a portion of the road. The accident occurred between the hours of 6:30am and 7:00am. When this reporter got to the scene of the accident, the police were already on the spot directing traffic. The police could however not provide an account of what happened because they said they were still investigating. However, according to an eyewitness who works at the Kaneshie 1st Light Cold Store, the truck was heading towards Kaneshie when all of a sudden a noise was heard beneath the truck before the incidence leading to the truck�s fall. He said the driver of the truck sustained some injuries on his arms while another occupant in the truck bled from the mouth. Two other occupants had minor injuries. Another eye witness said he suspects the driver was making a phone call while driving. At the time of leaving the accident scene, a towing truck had arrived to tow the truck away.
