Asamoah Gyan To Sign Al Ain Deal This Week

Al Ain insist Sunderland ace Asamoah Gyan will sign a permanent deal with the club this week, despite interest from Galatasaray. The UAE Etisalat Pro League champions have reacted to reports that the Turkish giants could move for Gyan before the end of the month if they miss out on Newcastle striker Demba Ba. The Istanbul-based club failed with a 6 million bid for Gyan last summer but are reportedly back in the chase for the striker before his loan agreement with Al Ain expires. Gyan-who scored 27 goals in 24 matches last season-looks set to remain in the Middle East, according to Al Ain officials. As far as Im concerned, weve exercised the option to purchase from Sunderland and the player has consented to staying, Al Ain CEO Carlo Nohra told Gulf News. To all intents and purposes, other than a contract, Gyan is now effectively an Al Ain player as of next season. Gyan moved to Sunderland at a record transfer fee of 13.1 million in the summer of 2010 before making a shock move to Al Ain on loan last September.
