Now we all know that Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, one of the sons of the Osagyefo is human and perhaps capable of making grave mistakes. He has now elected to campaign for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The ironies are many. First, Sekou would be campaigning against Professor John Evans Atta Mills, a past student of the Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute who still insists that he is inspired by Sekou�s father. Second, Sekou would be campaigning for a man who used to be a member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) who now leads the opposition to Sekou�s father and has become a strident critic of everything and anything Nkrumah. Interestingly, Sekou himself does not think much of his father having at least once declared publicly that he was a dictator. Sekou�s decision to campaign for Nana Akufo-Addo pitches him in the same camp with the Danquah-Busiasts and it does not matter whether he accepts that the reality or not. For now he is in the same camp with some of those who attempted to assassinate his father and who schemed to destroy him even at birth. When Sekou was born, the Danquah-Busiasts spread the rumour that his mother, Madam Fathia Nkrumah had given birth to a half-snake and a half-human. The opposition which terrorized Nkrumah is still at it and Nkrumah�s son Sekou is in their corner. Today, the half snake will be part of their campaign to capture power and they have no qualms about it. Is this what makes politics a very dirty game? The other day, they did what they used to do to Sekou and his father to Professor John Evans Atta Mills. It all started when pro-NPP newspapers started publishing screaming banner headlines which asked �Where Is Atta Mills?� for a week the head line was repeated many times and it fueled the rumour that the president was dying. Everywhere you passed somebody would ask �how is he? Can he contest the December elections?� Indeed the �Al Haj� newspaper has alleged that the National Chairman of the NPP actually sent out text messages announcing the death of the President. There were other media reports that some of the political opponents of the President openly jubilated when the rumour finally declared him dead. It became obvious that the rumor was a wicked fabrication when the whole nation saw Professor Mills on television departing for the US. He looked hale and healthy and this should have put his detractors to shame. Unfortunately, they know no shame and barely four hours after his plane had taken off, they pushed the rumour button to announce that he had collapsed on arrival in Washington. How could this be when it takes about 12 hours to fly to the USA? But reality and logic means nothing to these rumour and hate mongers. They would say anything and do everything to wrestle power from their opponents. Yesterday, it was Sekoue Nkrumah who had been born half-snake half-human. Today it is President Mills how has become a living ghost. Tomorrow it may be me, Ebow Duncan who may be swallowed by Mame water. It is all about a snake, half-human and death, what an opposition?
