Making the announcement over the weekend in Accra, the General Manager of COB-A Industries Festus Aido said, It wouldnt have come at a better time to support a deprived generation of hardworking girls who are determined to succeed in life. He said his offices equipment and team are only waiting for the mandate and direction from the Bridgewater project to commence work on the construction of the water supply system. Mr Aidoo disclosed that COB-A Industries will soon set up factories in the Northern Region, and offer employment opportunities to these hardworking girls. On his part, Bernard Anvuur of Kunata Voluntary Organisation, the NGO handling the Bridgewater Project, thanked the management of COB-A Industries and used the opportunity to invite other corporate bodies who want to set up structures in the village. The project is aimed at curbing the migration of girl head-porters popularly known as kayayei from the north to the south, where they are exposed to all sorts of dangers.
