Odododiodioo NDC Office On Fire

Fire officers yesterday raced to Agbado near James Town to fight a raging fire that had engulfed a building which used to house the Odododiodioo constituency office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Sources at the scene said the fire which started somewhere around 3:30pm razed down the entire building. Attempts by officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), who battled the raging inferno, proved unsuccessful as everything in the building was said to have burnt. Not even the over 10 fire tenders and the fire crane that was brought in could save the one-storey building and its contents. The James Town police had to divert traffic for close to three hours that the fire raged on, with people trooping to catch a glimpse. The Member of Parliament for Ododiodioo, Nii Tackie Commey, and Castle boy Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the NDC parliamentary candidate, and other constituency executives rushed to the site but stood in awe as the fire razed down their office. At the time the fire started, a funeral was said to be going on in the house. The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
