Supplementary Budget NOT Withdrawn...It Is Still Valid Finance Ministry

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) says contrary to media reports, it has not withdrawn the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy and Supplementary Estimate presented to Parliament on Wednesday July 18, 2012. The Minority had claimed that copies of the budget statement have been withdrawn from their pigeon holes as a result of an error and therefore urged the government to use the appropriate channel to so. But a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry clarified that because of certain typographical and formatting errors, it has recalled the documents distributed to MPs for correction and not the one laid at the Clerks Table which was presented by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Kwabena Duffuor. Read the full statement below: The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) wishes to bring to the attention of the general public and all stakeholders that the Ministry has NOT, repeat NOT, withdrawn the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy and Supplementary Estimate presented to Parliament by the Hon Minister of Finance and Economic Planning on Wednesday July 18, 2012. The Ministry has recalled the documents distributed to MPs for correction and not the one laid at the Clerks Table. The printed document distributed to members was found to contain typographical and formatting errors. The document laid at the Clerks Table by the Minister is still with Parliament. The correction has been effected and the document sent back to Parliament. We wish to reiterate that, the Ministry has not withdrawn the Supplementary Budget.
