The Right Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has stated that Ghana is under serious invasion by foreigners with exploitation of its natural resources and little or nothing is being done about it. Rt. Rev. Prof. Martey said there was lawlessness everywhere in the country, citing illegal mining, armed robbery and other criminal activities that had engulfed the nation with politicians and traditional rulers being less sensitive. �Ghana is being raped and no one cares�, he lamented calling on the Government, the security agencies, traditional rulers and the religious leaders to wake up and do something to stop these foreigners and the few unpatriotic Ghanaians from taking advantage of the entire nation. The Moderator was delivering a sermon during the ordination of 10 Ministerial Probationers from the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, the Northern Presbytery and the Upper Presbytery in Wa on Sunday. Rt. Rev. Prof. Martey urged the newly ordained Ministers of God to go out and ask questions about the exploitation of the nation�s resources and the dehumanization of the less privileged in society in a well packaged and refined prophetic messages in order to give hope to the hopeless in society. He also reminded them of enemies who would fight against them both spiritually and physically and advised them to find time to pray and commune with God for His (God) power to overcome the challenges and temptations. The Moderator further advised them to make use of the power and the authority God had made available to them in a manner that would bring hope to the broken-hearted and desist from using it to take advantage of their church members. Mr. Cezar Kale, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, congratulated the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the newly ordained Ministers of God and urged them to be leaders that would serve and not to be served. He said Government was appreciative of the church�s role and contributions to the development and growth of the economy and would continue to look forward for a renewed contribution and innovative initiatives that would continue to supplement the state's effort in all spheres of national development. On security, Mr. Kale said Government had provided the Police and the military with modern equipment and vehicles to combat armed robbers and other criminal activities. The Deputy Regional Minister said government had also set up a special army to defend the nation, especially with the oil find, adding that illegal miners were also being pursued with some being arrested and prosecuted. He appealed to the clergy to educate members of their churches, especially the youth, against violence as the December 2012 elections drew closer in order for the country to have a free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections. The newly ordained Ministers of God were Rev. James Adams Nagumsi, Rev. Isaac Natomah, Rev. Samuel Oboamah Asiedu and Rev. Robert Wekem Luguching all of the Northern Presbytery. Others were Rev. Michael Gumah, Rev. Isaac Yidana Laerawara and Rev. Michael Manyeya Akologo, all of the Upper Presbytery. The rest were Rev. Edward Nana-Addy, Rev. Richard Asafo-Adjei and Rev. John Amankwa-Okrah, all of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery.
