NDC Opens Nominations In 61 Constituencies For December Parliamentary Election

The NDC has opened nominations in 61 constituencies for the December Parliamentary election. These comprise the 45 new constituencies being created by the Electoral Commission and 16 others put on hold during the party's primaries. A statement issued by the party and signed by its Deputy General Secretary in charge of Operations, George Lawson said the filing of nominations will last for a week, which is from today to the 30th of this month. It named the constituencies in Greater Accra to include Amasaman, Tema Central, Ablekuma West, Ayawaso West, Okaikoi North, Bortianor-Ngleshie, Amanfrom, Weija-Gbawe and Anyaa-Sowutuom. For the Volta Region, the constituencies are Krachi-Nchumuru, Krachi West, North Dayi, Kpando, Adaklu, Agotime-Ziope and Akatsi North. For the Eastern Region, the constituencies are Aburi, Akim Swedru, Atiwa East and Fanteakwa North. For Ashanti the constituencies are Obuasi, Atwima Nwabiagya, Manhyia North, Ahafo North and Kumawu. The Northern Region has five constituencies. These are Damongo, Daboya, Sagnarigu North, Zabzugu-Kparibatu and Yooyo. The Upper East has two. These are Bolga East and Tempane. The Upper West also has two constituencies, Lawra and Nandom. For Brong Ahafo, the constituencies are Dormaa West, Berekum West, Tain, Banda, Sene West and Sene East. The statement urged prospective candidates to file in their branch constituencies and not more elsewhere.
