Ghana U-20 Names Squad For South Africa Tourney

Ghana Under-20 coach Orlando Wellington has named a strong 21-man squad for the Cape Town International tournament which begins on Friday. The entirely home-based squad will be captained by the 2011 Sports Writers Premier League Player of the Year Mumuni Abubakar who plays for New Edubiase United. Also included in the squad who depart Accra on Monday night are five players from the second-tier league The Black Satellites face defending champions Nigeria on May 25 at the Athlone Stadium in Group A of the eight-nation tournament. They will also play hosts South Africa on May 27 before thier final group game against Argentina two days later. Group B consists of Brazil, Cameroon, Kenya and Japan. Ghana are preparing for the 2013 African Youth Championship qualifier against Uganda in July. Midfielders: Prince Baffoe (Kotoko), Tamimu Muntari (Mighty Jets), Jacob Appau Asiedu (Medeama), Moro Ibrahim (New Edubiase), Mumuni Abubakar (New Edubiase), Sarfo Gyamfi (Wa All Stars), Seidu Salifu (Wa All Stars).
